David Ellefson Launches “School’s Out” Initiative

The David Ellefson Youth Music Foundation, a non-profit organisation started in 2018 by the Megadeth bassist, has announced their SCHOOL’S OUT initiative, providing free music lessons and one-on-one mentoring sessions for students stuck at home due to Covid 19 restrictions. The SKYPE sessions will be held by legendary rock and metal artists including David Ellefson, Frank Bello of Anthrax, Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch, and Ra Diaz of Suicidal Tendencies. “Everybody’s giving of their time,” said Ellefson. “These lessons are at no cost. This is all of us just pitching in and donating some of our time in our down cycle right now to help give people some hope and get excited about music. With all the stuff going on right now, when we’ve got guitars in our hands and we’re communicating with our fans and students, I think that’s a perfect way to keep all of us out of trouble.”  ellefsonyouthmusicfoundation.org
