Warwick founder celebrates his 60th with a stunning Thumb Bass

Having recently celebrated Warwick’s 35th anniversary, company founder Hans-Peter Wilfer, celebrated his own birthday with an incredible version of the iconic Thumb Bass. Based on the original 1985 design, this one-of-a-kind instrument was made using high-grade tone-woods, some of which had been stored for up to 30 years. The body is pommelé bubinga with a bubinga burl top. The neck combines wenge and bunge (bubinga) with a white maple veneer, while gold-set sapphires back-lit by LEDs have been used for the dot inlays and side-dots. Even the W-logo on the headstock has been studded with diamonds. The estimated value is over $170,000!
